Cookie Policy

The short version

This website sets no cookies of its own, and runs no advertising and no tracking of any kind. It does count page views, and it counts enquiries sent through the contact form, using a measurement tool that stores nothing whatsoever in your browser. That is why you have not been shown a cookie banner. There is nothing to ask you to consent to.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store, so it can recognise your device on a later visit. Similar technologies (local storage, pixels, tracking scripts) do much the same job. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), anything beyond what is strictly necessary to deliver a service you asked for needs your consent first.

What this site does not use

• No analytics or measurement cookies. There is no Google Analytics and no Meta pixel on this site.
• No advertising or retargeting cookies. You will not be followed around other websites because you read this one.
• No social media tracking widgets.
• No fingerprinting, and no selling or sharing of any browsing data.

Fonts are served from this site rather than from a font provider, so loading a page does not send your IP address to a third party.

What the site does store

The web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser type) for a short period, to keep the site running and to defend against abuse. That is not done with cookies, and the logs are not used to build a profile of you.

The same host also counts page views, so I can see which pages people actually read. It records the page, where you arrived from, your country and rough area, and your device and browser type. It does not use cookies, it stores nothing on your device, and it cannot follow you to another website or recognise you on a later visit. When you send the contact form, my server separately records that an enquiry arrived and which page you came from. That count is made on the server rather than in your browser. It carries none of what you typed, and it does carry your IP address, because the request is made by my server to the host’s own measurement service.

Nothing at all is stored in your browser by this site: no cookies, and nothing in local or session storage.

Payments

Card payments are taken on the payment provider’s own secure pages, not on this site. Cookies they set there are covered by their policy, and are necessary for the payment and for fraud prevention.

Controlling cookies yourself

Every major browser lets you:

• Block or delete cookies for individual sites, or for all sites.
• Use private or incognito browsing, which clears them when you close the window.
• Turn on your browser’s own tracking protection.

Blocking cookies will not stop this site working, because it does not rely on any.
