Terms
What you can expect from me, what I need from you, and how booking, payment and cancellation work.
Last updated: 14 August 2026
Who these terms are with
These terms apply between you (the parent, guardian or adult student booking tuition) and me, a sole trader trading as Zep Tuition. Booking a session means accepting them. For students under 18, a parent or guardian must make the booking and is responsible for payment.
Booking and sessions
- A booking is confirmed once a slot is agreed and, for packages, once payment has cleared.
- Sessions are 60 minutes unless we agree otherwise in writing. Intensive sessions run to 2 hours.
- Blocks of 6 or 12 sessions are valid for six months from the date of purchase.
- In-person sessions take place at the student’s home, within the areas listed on the site. I do not travel outside them.
- Online sessions use a shared digital whiteboard and a standard video platform.
Fees and payment
Current rates are on the pricing page and are the same whether sessions are online or in person. Single sessions are paid before or on the day; packages are paid upfront. Payment is by card through a secure payment processor, or by bank transfer against an invoice if you prefer. I never see or store your card details.
If rates change, the new rate applies to bookings made after the change. Any block you have already paid for is honoured at the rate you paid.
Cancellation and rescheduling
- More than 24 hours’ notice: the session is rescheduled free of charge.
- Less than 24 hours’ notice: the session is charged, or deducted from your block.
- If I cancel: the session is rescheduled at no cost, always. If I cannot offer a reasonable alternative, that session is refunded.
I am reasonable about genuine illness and emergencies. The window exists so that reserved time is respected in both directions, not to catch anyone out.
Groups are booked as a unit. If a student leaves partway through a block, the remaining students continue at the rate for the new group size from the next session onwards.
Your right to cancel a package
Where you book at a distance (online, by phone or by message) you have 14 days from the date of booking to cancel a package and receive a refund, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Once your package has started, sessions are no longer refundable and the 24-hour cancellation policy above applies.
How to cancel. Email gianni@zeptuition.co.uk, or send the same message through the contact form on this site. You do not need to give a reason, and you do not need to use any particular form of words. If it helps, you can copy this: “I give notice that I cancel my contract for tuition, booked on the following date: …”. Include your name so I can identify the booking. I will confirm by reply.
What I do and do not promise
I will teach with reasonable care and skill, prepare properly, and be honest with you about progress.
I do not and cannot guarantee any particular grade or exam outcome. Results depend on the student’s own work between sessions, their starting point, and the exam itself. Any tutor who guarantees a grade is making a claim they cannot support. Nothing on this website should be read as such a guarantee.
See the Safeguarding Statement for the standards I apply when working with students under 18.
What I need from you
- The student is ready to start at the agreed time, with the relevant materials to hand.
- For online sessions, a working device, camera and connection are the student’s responsibility. If a session cannot go ahead because of a fault at your end, it is treated as a late cancellation.
- For in-person sessions, a quiet working space with a table, and an adult present in the property for students under 18.
- I will be on time, prepared, and will tell you honestly if I do not think tuition is what the student needs.
Materials
Worksheets, notes, written feedback and whiteboard files I produce are for the use of the student they were made for. Please do not republish, resell or distribute them. Past paper and mark scheme material remains the property of the relevant awarding body and is used under their terms.
Ending the arrangement
Either of us can stop at any time. If you stop, unused sessions are refunded as set out above. I may end the arrangement if fees go unpaid, if a student’s conduct makes teaching unworkable, or if I conclude I am not the right person to help, in which case I will say so and refund anything unused in full.
Liability
My liability to you is limited to the fees you have paid for the sessions concerned, except where the law does not allow that limit, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and for fraud. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Complaints and governing law
If something is wrong, email gianni@zeptuition.co.uk and I will try to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes fall to the courts of England and Wales.
I may update these terms. Bookings are governed by the version in force when the booking was made.
Questions about this policy?
Email gianni@zeptuition.co.uk and I’ll answer. If you’d rather talk it through first, the consultation call is free and carries no obligation.
