Cost
How much does tuition in New Barnet cost?
A single one-to-one session costs between £70 and £80 an hour, depending on the subject and the level. The rate is the same whether we meet in person in New Barnet or work online.
Booking a block brings that down: six sessions or twelve, with the twelve-session rate reaching £60 an hour at GCSE. Pairs and small groups cost less again per student.

Do you teach in person or online?
Both, at the same rate. New Barnet is inside the area I travel to for in-person sessions. I teach full-time, so I keep face-to-face slots close to home; online is available UK-wide and works just as well.
Which exam boards do you cover?
Every major board. AQA and Edexcel are my main specialisms, and I work regularly with OCR A and B, Cambridge CIE and Edexcel IGCSE.
What happens in the first session?
It is diagnostic. We work through recent work or part of a past paper together and I identify what is actually going wrong, which is usually narrower and more specific than the student expects.
How long before we see improvement?
Exam technique often shows up within two or three sessions, because it is about how existing knowledge is presented. Content gaps take longer, typically six to ten sessions.
Are you DBS checked?
Yes. An Enhanced DBS check for the child workforce, maintained through my full-time teaching role, and registered with the DBS Update Service.
